Keep Your Home Well-Ventilated
Increasing the supply of fresh air can reduce exposure to indoor asthma triggers and other contaminants. Excessive moisture, elevated levels of humidity, gases from stoves or heaters, carbon monoxide, and other harmful pollutants accumulate in a home without proper ventilation. Kitchen and bathroom fans should always vent directly outside the home, not a wall cavity or attic. Poor ventilation can lead to higher rates of missed school or workdays, common colds, influenza, pneumonia, and bronchitis.
To keep your home well-ventilated, use exhaust fans and open windows, especially when you are cleaning, cooking, or using chemicals in your home.
