Steps to Become a Lead Remediation Worker:

To be able to perform lead remediation and evaluation work in New Jersey, your company will need to become firm-certified by the EPA. Your firm will need to receive an EPA Lead-Safe Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) certification.

Steps to Become a Lead Abatement Worker for Housing and Public Buildings:

The New Jersey Lead Abatement Worker for Housing and Public Buildings conducts lead abatement work in housing and public buildings.

There are no Prerequisites to become a certified lead abatement worker.

Attend Lead Abatement Worker Initial training. If you are already certified and need to renew, attend a Lead Abatement Worker Refresher course.

Apply to the NJDOH (NJ Department of Health) for your Lead Abatement Worker certification.
